Child Focused Child-focused approach which focus on ministry priorities with children in the context of their families and community. Relief, development, and advocacy have a transformational agenda working at the community level: the well being of children and youth is the starting point and a primary measure of impact through children's survival, development, spiritual nurture, protection, and their participation as change agents. Child rights are important tools to address injustice and guide programming response. Child-focused development starts with the recognition that children are the future of any family, community and nation. It means improving the lives of children by dealing with the causes of their suffering, not just the symptoms. We recognise children do not live in a vacuum, but in a larger context of family and community, and our work impacts all of these. Community Based Community-based is an orderly approach to a task initiated by and owned by the community to improve the living and economic conditions of that community. CBOs also include organisations based in and working in one or more local communities (neighbourhood or districts) that are run by and for the local community. Typically, CBOs are created in response to some local need or situation, often related to the local social and economic environment, and usually support a variety of specific local improvement actions. Partnerships Change through partnering is the very motivation that encourage World Vision Indonesia partners with the poor in their development, working with the government and civil society to seek life in fullness and a brighter future. Our key partners include individual sponsors who contribute through child sponsorship towards community development while building a relationship with a child, and corporates who have the will to make a difference in the lives of children. In Indonesia, World Vision is a member of several NGO networks and Government forums, which address social and economic issues at various levels. |
As a member of global partner, World Vision partners with millions of individuals, hundreds of corporations and institutions, governments and United Nations. World Vision International has consultative status with UN - ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council) as well as official relations with key UN agencies including UNICEF, WHO, UNHCR and ILO.
