The students called her as the Mrs. Milka (55 years old) for teacher who teaches with the full friendliness. Almost every day, more students in Grade 1 are happy and comfortable in asking lessons that they do not understood or even things outside the lesson. Before teaching in grade 1, Mrs. Milka always taught Grade 5 and 6.

Milka has 6 children and 15 grandchildren. She has completed school education for teachers in 1972. She has experience of Learning Model, which is applied by most teachers, in situation teachers are active and students are passive. The students only listen with hand on their desks.

In her 70 years age, she's having difficulties to get teaching materials, but with piece of newspaper or magazine, she could be made it to be teaching materials for students. Initially, Mrs. Milka often more got tempered with students who are stubborn or stupid in class. With frequency of reading books, magazines used, the training, she could eventually reduce her bad temperament and become friendly with children.

Mrs. Milkha was one of the teachers who facilitated by World Vision's Rote Area Development Program for training AJEL (Active, Joyful, and effective Learning) in Yogyakarta. The school where she be on duty is one of the school model that will be the model for schools in Rote to implement School Base Management (SBM) - AJEL (Active, Joyful, effective Learning) and Community Participation. In fact, Education bureau of Rote Ndao entrust her to become a tutor of AJEL (Active, Joyful, and effective Learning) in training at the district level.

She felt grateful because World Vision and its partner, Wahana Visi Indonesia has changed her old paradigms of teaching that is focused only to the teachers. With the new methods of teaching which focused on students, the students can ask questions without hesitation and do active discussion.

If Mrs. Milka found a problem from the students, she often came to the children's parents. According to her, mostly, we could see children behaviour from the way their parents treat them at home. She called the children in particular and to provide advice that is connected with the word of God.

The Method of AJEL (Active, Joyful, effective Learning) has been applied to the class. Students are no longer afraid of learning CALISTUNG (Membaca, Menulis dan Berhitung = Read, Write and Count). It is possible because the class atmosphere is very friendly.

"Let us teach with the heart and not with violence!" said the teacher who's ever got an award from the General Director of the Environment in 1984, because of her writing on Environment issue at National Level.

Teachers should be teaching with heart and students will receive it with sincerity.
